Our ancestors were deprived of food almost all the time. There is a strong desire to limit the use of calories that can be preserved. I remember suckling in the days when I was still eating wheat. It wasn't very pretty, but I managed it and I suckled the big Mac. And I think that most people still suckle you swallowing. We've never made the full transition. So that's baby lead weaning.
