The Relationship Between Technology and Depression
Spending time on social media is more strongly linked to depression than spending time, say gaming. Even when you control for gender and girls spend more time onsocial media than boys do - that probably took a heavier hit from the specific pressures around social media. The body image issues. There's just for many, many reasons that pressure to look a certain way to be beautiful, to have a certain body type that honestly, most of us can't live up to. And so it's uniquely depressing.
