The Effects of Collective Interviews on Eyewitness Account Research
The first red flag in Fernandez's study showed that they did collective interviews. Multiple children at once would mean that you not only had multiple kids in the room, but you also had the ability for students to build off of each other's details. There's also a lot of social social psychological research that shows that if you even take an adult and put them in a room with three other people who are actors and you get them to answer trivia questions,. If all three confidently give the wrong answer, the fourth person is more likely even if they know the answer is wrong to sort of change their answer and to vote in the affirmative, along with the group.
