We're not going to agree on every single issue, but what we have to do is to be able to create an where we can disagree without being disagreeable. I cannot tell you the number of times that i have rejected useful criticism because i didn't trust the person who was giving it to me. Not all of us listen to useful feedback, even when it's presented clearly and without rancor. That's because we confuse challenges to our views with threats to our ego....
