The Emergence of Self-Representation in AI

The question whether current systems have anything like a form of self-representation is very interesting. I'm always careful when discussing these issues, because often people tend to equate consciousness and self-consciousness. In the case of South Domingo-Karz, this is built in hand engineered by the engineers making the system. And so it's interesting to discuss whether there is this kind of emergent capacity for self- Representation that would emerge from turning. But I don't see any strong evidence that this is the case so far.
