The Importance of Submissing to a Master
Peter does not address masters, but speaks to servants in households. The servant's subjection is on account of christ, not on account of his master. There is no honour in suffering for sinful behaviour. Suffering for righteousness sake is suffering to which all christians have been called. He has given us the example, and we must follow after him.
