The Silk Road and the Kazars - The Most Important Groups of the Islamic World
In the eight hundreds, 901 thousands, in this post imperial era, you have a combination of the mostly east west silk road with the north south slave trade. And so some of these large groups that create new, powerful, expansive silk road empires include the samanids and the caracans. The kazars are another turkis group that had broken away from the western turkish empire much earlier but then gradually grew more powerful. They built an imperialcap at atil, on the volga river, right? So, so atil was sort of the next great central asian imperial capital, after ordu balic in mongolia.
