How to Be a Good Friend in Japan

It's just so hard to decide how like polite you have to be towards them. You don't want to seem like a kiss off. In Japanese if you're too polite it's like you know. You're wrong. It was really hard moving from Australia to here. The social dynamics is just so different, I'm not sure what the word for it is.
