The Paradox of Teaching
If your teacher is really good, you find the topic more interesting. That's kind of the best case scenario, right? Right? So it's not the best cases scenario because you're not forced to learn it out of pain. This is called the fade out effect. Good teachers are trying to get better. They're trying to make subjects easier for students to handle and engaging. But if someone else does the work for you, you actually don't develop these fundamental skills. People with bad teachers early on tend to underperform in the later stages.
