Is There Beauty in Music?
I didn't feel beautiful when i was growing up. I couldn't compete with girls who were thought of as beautiful, so i found my niche in music and that was where i found my beauty. And then as i grew up, i brought other, you know, insecurities. But i always knew that my music worked. My first husband was a lyricist. And i wasn't even thinking about being beautiful. I was thinking about writing songs. In that there was beauty. This interview was recorded in two thousand 14.
