How the Atlanta Braves Are Getting Extensions Done

The Atlanta Braves have signed a number of players to contract extensions. How are they getting all of these extension deals done? Are they specifically targeting guys in trade who they anticipate would be amenable to an extension? And are there any other candidates on the roster currently who you think they might try to target in a similar way? It does seem like Atlanta and the Braves do have quite a large footprint as far as their fan base is concerned.
