The 11th Airborne's First Combat Jump

The 11th airborne's first combat jump was a single guy jumping into the jungle to take over command of a unit that had been scattered in combat. They used mirrors to signal their location, dropped them some medical supplies. As they then started pushing their way back up into the mountains, they soon found as a very small flat area on this plateau. So he air dropped again one at a time, a company of infantry into the drop zone to secure that. And it's worth noting just this is again where we see kind of the lack of air support.
