The Benefits and Drawbacks of Hormone Replacement Therapy for Menopause
The FDA has just approved a novel medication to treat severe hot flashes caused by menopause. Fezzolinotant works by blocking neurokine in three, a compound that helps control the body's temperature regulation. It does not work through sex hormones like estrogen and consequently it's considered safer for women who can't take hormone therapy. Some doctors expect that Viosa will be especially helpful for women over 60 since they're more susceptible to serious side effects from estrogen.
