The Importance of Regularity in Old Norse
The declension of the word for man in Old Norse looks like a complete disaster, but everything that happens in it is regular. The other one is Umlaut, which is sometimes called an I mutation. You have an I or a Y sound in one syllable causes wackiness, typically fronting, to the vowel in the previous syllable.
