i was invited to be the global lecturer on a national geographic ship that went from swalbard, up in the arctic circle. And we were supposed to be seeing thick pack ice with polar bears and seals. And there was just open water. There was almost no ice there. i remembered that the story of frankenstein actually begins and ends with a ship stuck in the ice. So so that that juxtaposition really stuffed me and sort of set me on the track of thinking about the implications of this story.
