What Is Self-Directed Learning?

Self-directed learning is when the young person or learner can choose what they learn. It's within a curated environment which adults provide in combination with adults who will be facilitating this. We're helping them follow their interests. So, what about parents who are listening to this and thinking, well, if my kid was just following their interest, it'd be Minecraft? I don't know if either of you played Minecraft. I've played quite a lot of Minecraft. And when parents say that to me, I say, okay, can you get in there with them with the Minecraft? Can you learn to play Minecraft with them?"
