Rebuilding the Temple and Resistance
This chapter focuses on the rebuilding of the temple in Jerusalem, with the people of Israel gathering together to start building the altar and celebrating the feast of booths. However, there is resistance from adversaries who offer to build with them but are rejected by Zerubbabel and Jeshua. The people of the land also discourage the rebuilding and write letters of protest, causing the work to stop.
