Is There a Labour Government in Scotland?
The case for independence has probably not been weaker since 2011. The SMPs argument in Scotland, certainly since the Tories came to office in 2010, has been we are getting conservative governments and Scotland has not voted for conservative governments since the 1950s. It may well be that Scotland and the next election doesn't go for a Labour government either. But you can't argue that a Labour government wouldn't be more palatable to Scotland on the basis of previous trends. If part of this debate is going to be around the economic self-harm, which is Brexit, I don't believe it actually puts Labour in an advantageous position.
