The Importance of Language Learning
With language learning, regardless of what platform you're using, it's more than just memorization. Some studies show you have a 24% rate of retention that way. So I don't think it's memory techniques versus space repetition software is tool and how deeply you engage in using it. But with memory techniques, when you do what's called active recall, which requires you to deeply engage in a multi-sensory way... You cause yourself to recall it. Then you get greater, not just retention, but you get greater greater ability to put it into use because that's essential as well.
