The Evolution of Life in Space
Theory that life can make it from one body in a system to another or even between galaxies and so on. I always thought that this was a relatively modern idea. In fact, some smart Greek philosopher was talking about this 2,500 years ago. We've come to realise, particularly in recent years, that life is incredibly tough and resilient. Organisms can be dormant for incredibly long periods of time. If we're talking about bodies like a comet or an asteroid, you can imagine environments within those bodies that are actually quite comfortable even when you're travelling through deep space.
