The Pandemic and the Culture Wars
The culture wars have served as a way to really emphasize the apparent division between populism and technocracy. I think in that sense we've overplayed them, says Chris Grayling. The pandemic has produced pretty pure forms of techno populist government maybe including Johnson's pre and post-commings. And then there's the possibility that actually the pandemic is going to reintroduce new ideological divisions even if they're not classic left-right divisions.
