The Importance of Waterways in Economic Development
When geographic features such as mountains and rivers, climate and soil are viewed in combination, their significance becomes even greater. What creates economic development is waterways which connect productive regions together. Sometimes a variety of favorable geographical features exist in combination within a given region. The consequences include not only variations in economic well-being but more fundamentally variations in the skills and experience the people themselves.
