i think too often we talk about that kind of ambition to leave something as in this kind of whiplash style where you have to dedicate your whole life to this single purpose and burn all your relationships. i feel like maybe that's kind of tempered down a little bit in this movie but at the same time there's also an argument against just naively going through life and going through the motions. There has to be some balance or some kind of awareness some kind of deliberateness that i feel like this movie is exploring because it doesn't feel like there's a clear victor at the end.
