Debt restructuring is used very broadly to describe really any time a company makes a change with their debt structure. When we're talking about it, kind of for accounting purposes, what we mean is situations where the lender is the same before and after the transaction. If you had two different parties, then technically it's not a restructuring, at least in my mind. So sometimes it's obvious that it's a debt restructuring, and the lenders are the same. You might have a contract modification. Or if you have a debt exchange, one bond exchange for a new one, that has to be the same lender.
