Preparations for Battle

Alfred the Great prepares his growing army for battle against Viking King Guthrum at Bratton, while Guthrum strategizes and recognizes the threat posed by Alfred. The rebels grow impatient and worried during the waiting period, while Guthrum hopes to use Bratton's strategic advantages. Eventually, Alfred's army confronts Guthrum's forces in the Battle of Edington.
