The biggest effect in North America tends to be the precipitation patterns. El Nino could potentially cost the world up to 84 trillion across the whole century as a result of the very weather effects that come from El Nino. But there are so many uncertainties with this and so many variables that I think other experts are more cautious about these predictions.
