Local press accounts of George Santos raised real questions about his backstory before the election. It didn't really get the public's attention that this guy was lying about big chunks of his biography, says Noel Coward. He has acknowledged what he describes as embellishments to his resume but hasn't done much to actually prove that he is anything like the politician he presented himself as to voters. "This isn't the made-up narrative, but I feel like nobody really wants to sit down and talk about it," she adds.
George Santos is supposed to become a member of Congress this week. We still have no idea who he is.
