It makes me wonder if there was a certain point about half way through where king didn't realize that his main character was this kid, even though he'd structured the entire beginning of the book around author. But it really is mark who goes through the biggest change. Ben doesn't really lose anything that he didn't gain when he came into town. So it's likebut in something too, because he faces the marston mouse. He has to faces fear and even overcome a bigger fear. And they're the only people really standing at the end.
