What Makes a Good Manager?

As a more senior designer, i do want that more coaching kind of relationship with my manager. And someone too, like help me figure out next steps, rather than telling me what to do. So yet, i feel like my needs and expectations definitely change as i grow and end my career. What do you look for in a manager? Aside from some one who can coach you, what are some other things that that make a good manager for you?
