The Importance of Availability in Antibiotic Treatments
Most of the time, antibiotics would be ordinary for most U.S. citizens; there might be circumstances where they're extraordinary. If you have a patient who's imminently dying from cancer, but develops bacterial pneumonia, I don't think we'd have a moral application there to give antibiotics. The benefits include maintaining or improving quality of life, burdens include detracting from quality of life.
