The Importance of Conversation Analysis
I am a psychologist by background, but the field that I work in is conversation analysis. And we do what some psychologists might call for and what people might assume psychology is - observation of people's actual lives as they lived. The whole point of doing it is to look at life as it happens,. interaction in the wild as it unfolds with people's real things at stake for people. So that's kind of where I think the action is and that's what conversation analysts study.
