The Future of AI Reward Systems

The reward systems we use today seem rather primitive. Could it be that we'll just have some clever humans come up with better approaches to reward systems in the future? Or certainly, I'm not saying that we can't have better reward systems. Right now you get really good result of CH-GPT. But if you get to more difficult tasks that are very hard to train at training time,CH-GPT becomes useless. And so there will be more progress in creating better reward systems but there will always only approximate parts of the human cognitive system. So what is intelligence? We haven't discussed this yet.
