The Effects of Nebulized TXA on Homostasis

Wanda: TXA is an anti-fibranolytic that inhibits the activation of plasmidogen and decreases its conversion to plasmid, ultimately preventing degradation of fibrin. In 2018, Wanda all compared nebulized TXA versus placebo with patients receiving nebulized treatments three times per day over the course of five days. They did find reduced bleeding achieved during the first five days of admission, and 96% of patients receiving TXA and only 50% of patients receive placebo.TXA here was associated with a significantly reduced amount of expetrated blood with a shorter length of stay and fewer required interventional procedures.
