How to Be Authentic and Encourage the Authenticity Within This World

That are simple exchange, our kindness, our love changes the community,. So it feels safe. It feels like I want to go there. How do you approach writing storylines or characters that culturally challenge the status quo? Like queer characters or people of color that we don't see a lot in the movies.
