Black Panthers - Is There a Reason for This?

Violence against the police was a constant refrain in, in Black Panther periodicals. And it was usually framed as necessary self defense against an oppressive and violent force. There is this kind of unavoidably gleeful tone and some of the discussions against violence against law enforcement that I think is really uncomfortable for a lot of centrist political people to read. The FBI and the police were engaged in an active battle to destroy the Black Panthers and to murder many of their leaders in this period of time. It wasn't just spawned from bloodthirstiness.
