Is There a Counter Argument for Ai?

There's still some very high level arguments for why it might be really valuable for people who care about the long-term future to work on ai love them. Some of the specific arguments for ai being an extinction risk look a lot less strong after they've been examined. There weren't that many sort of detailed good faith critiques of super intelligence when it first came out so i think there were probably a few people i would call out for having written much more substantive critiques than most other people. robin hanson he engaged in back and forth blog posts with elie's rid kousky on questions around a development trajectories which I think pulled up pretty well. brian tamask
