I was on the path set by the dogs. Though absent, they were my guides and role models. An eye who felt myself to be an animal locked out of certain perceptions was approaching it. I had a giddy sense of expectation as if I were going to see a gorilla give birth - which I did once witness. It was a childhood feeling which meant that I trusted it.
