Introduction

The Panel Study of Income Dynamics is the longest running longitudinal panel household survey. It came out of Eisenhower's war on poverty and has been following same families since 1968. The last wave we had about 25,000 individuals in that first year. We've collected data annually until 1997 and biennially every other year since then.
