The Inquisitor and the Morteras
Ad gardo's mother, marianna, is frantic with grief. She gets put in a wagon and goes off to a friend's place. The inquisitor orders the police to stay at the mortara home all night watching. He was worried that the jewish parents would kill their child rather than allow the child to be taken by the church. Gave him 24 hours to try to show that all this was a mistake.
