Underneath this pile of dirt is a thousand years worth of cities, one on top of another. We went to some unexcavated tells in israel and turkey,. But you can actually see what these look like. This is how archaeological digs are done. The city gates become more and more complex over the course of human history. They're dropping rocks on you as the enemy come through there. They're pouring boiling oil. Is a pretty advanced technology. So it becomes more advantageous to build a siege ramp we read about in history and just come over wall like that.
