Why Brazil's Politics Matters
The election in Brazil is so important because if Bolsonaro loses which polls say he will, then that's also another one of these big authoritarian, right-wing populists at an international level who's being booted out. One of the reasons why Brazil's politics matters of course is around probably the biggest political issue of this decade and coming decades: climate change. What is the difference between the two candidates on that particular issue? I think the main difference is that Lula knows the environment matters. And that's not Bolsonoro's case.
