The Importance of Intangible Things in Communication

I'm far more likely to misunderstand what someone saying in like a YouTube comment or a Reddit comment then if I hear them speaking on a podcast. Most people overestimate how well their thoughts are being actually understood by whoever they're talking to. And also much to my surprise, I've really been convinced that in person is not just better than video, but it's like a thousandfold increase again.
