The Ideological Origins of the American Revolution
The American Revolution was not undertaken to recast the social order. What's important about it is what the leaders of it had in mind, and that's really what the ideological origins is all about. The idea was to find out what complex of fears and hopes and recollections and notions of the past and guesses for the future led them into the revolution.
