The Origins of the Pepper State

Jamaican-Chinese fusion food could really be Chinese cooks using familiar ingredients and techniques to cook Jamaican food in the ways that felt most organic to them. Like many other immigrant communities, Jamaicans have been a part of the North American middle class for more than 50 years. The pepper state is an oil seasoned beef dish with dry seasonings and per seasonings. It's served as breakfast or at night along with white rice or rice on peas. In her family it is done as more of a breeze, heavy on the warm spices of ginger and pimento like you would the stew pork.
