Was There a Scottish Revolution?
If we are asking the question, was there a scottish revolution, we have to be clear about defining our terms. So yes, i think the covenanters did seize power. They governed for a number of years and restructured the political system in ways that had many long term consequences. The ideology also played itself out. That not necessarily a long term thing, but it underlines the distinct character of the revolution. It's kind of got elements of it, hasn't it?
