Aristotle made a discovery between potential and actuality. If some things change, as we affirm here that they do, then they must have potential in them. By potentiality we just mean the ability to be, that which can be. That's what potentiality or potency is. So if something had absolutely no potentialy, literally it could not be otherwise.
