Vin Diesel started out as an uncredited extra in 1990s awakenings and then he went on to write, direct and produce both the 1995 short film Multifacial and the feature strays. He starred in both of those and then came a string of early hits including 1998 Saving Private Ryan. And yeah, The Fast and the Furious series of course has continued.
