Second Language Teaching - Is One Better Than the Other?

Lola raskin asks if we go more towards implicit learning, as opposed to explicit language learning. How on earth can we do this successfully ot the structure of a text book in the structure of of the grammar forms? And helen mooney asks something almost identical. She asks, can we have alignment, vertical alignment, horizontal alignment in our courses structure? Essentially, whilst teaching without a text book and using comprehensible input, thes are both very closely lined.
