Anissa told police a different story. She said she was scared and believed Slender Man could easily kill her whole family. Forensic psychological evaluations of Anissa diagnosed her with post-traumatic stress disorder, major depression, and a delusional disorder. Dr. Melissa Westendor, the psychologist appointed by the judge, testified that Anissa suffered from shared psychotic disorder. This is a rare disorder in which two or more people share the same delusion.
