Gold and silver are two metals that do the best in an inflationary environment. They actually do better than base metals and other commodities during periods of high inflation. So given how much inflation we have, why are gold and silver mining stocks getting clobbered again? It's not because these stocks aren't inflation hedges; it's just that investors will still believe the fed reserve is on the job to worry about inflation.
